Any other 99 Neon would be worth 1/2 this or less.

But...

99 Neon R/T

Kinja'd!!!

At 2 grand it’s cheap enough to play.

Those little Neons, especially the early ones like that, are highly underrated. A friend of mine had one just like that in high school and he surprised a lot of more powerful cars. I’d hoon an RT coupe like that all day.

Gonna pick it up for your “classic” second car?

I like the contrasting pictures in the ad of the car shiny, wheels bright, and driveway with little vegetation in the cracks, then the picture from the other side with the car faded, the wheels dull, and the driveway deteriorated.

Nah. I’ve driven one though. A guy I used to work with in the late 90s had a black one with silver stripes. He used it to deliver pizzas for 7 years until the head gasket finally let go. They’re terrific little cars.

IIRC, the HG is like the only known issue on these. Replace that with a better one and you’re set. These truly are great little cars with legit track cred. They hold boost well too.

Water does a wonder for faded 90s paint. Notice that the driveway is wet in the shiny picture. First thing I’d do is get rid of that light bar though. Otherwise it’s relatively unfuckedwith.

Seems like a NP, good, cheap, and fun, for the right person.

What’s the status of your car search? I don’t think you’ve posted about that recently. Hope school is going well, seems like interesting homework (which you have posted about).

Totally didn’t notice the light bar. Are the stock lights that bad?

Yeah. And once the Lexan starts to oxidize it’s downright dangerous at night.

I’d hoon it. A buddy of mine was trying to 2.4L swap an old neon coupe a while back.

Fun little cars, and cheap to work on. The RT is a good package too. Not as light as the acr, and probably no adjustable konis, but otherwise same engine and trans.

I had 97 acr that I would autox, so much fun. Sold it for an engagement ring. Well half or an engagement ring. Such is life. Simple little cars.
